The Castleton Carollers spread plenty of festive cheer again this year and raised over £300 for hall funds in the process. Thank you to all who gave their time to sing and perform and to all who generously donated.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Northern Powergrid Foundation, we have recently been able to install solar panels and battery storage at the village hall. Not only will this make the hall a more eco-friendly facility, it will also make a huge difference to running costs and its financial stability.

The grant will also cover the cost of replacing some of the existing heaters which, combined with our plans to improve the building’s insulation, means we should have a greener [and warmer] hall very soon

THANK YOU to everyone who came to or supported last night’s Race Night kindly hosted by The Downe Arms

First count looks like the event will have raised around a fantastic £800 which will go towards the installation of solar panels and associated building works at the village hall

Refurbishment work on the village hall’s kitchen was completed this month and we are thrilled with the results. Thank you to the members of the committee who worked so hard to get this project complete so that we can now offer a functional, modern and user-friendly kitchen facility to the users of the hall. Thank you also to the following organisations who, alongside a number of individuals, supported the project and made it possible: Howdens, The Goshen Trust, The Woodsmith Foundation

The Castleton Carrollers were back out spreading Christmas cheer for all to hear again this year and raised a fantastic £250 for hall funds. Thank you to all who sang and all who donated!

The village hall has had a facelift! With thanks to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park Authority’s village improvement grant, the front exterior of the village hall has recently been redecorated.
